SCOPE OF WORK: Luse Environmental Services removed asbestos spray-on fireproofing applied to the beams and deck in the interstitial area above a drywall ceiling. All work was completed in a fully-occupied condo building.
SUCCESS: Luse was able to work safely, minimize damage to the drywall ceiling, and contain the water used to wet down the asbestos. Thus, we saved the owner the from demolishing and replacing the drywall ceiling. Equipment and material were staged to minimize movement above the ceiling. Luse used existing openings in the building to vent out the negative air machines, saving the customer thousands of dollars for the removal/replacement of windows. As a result of this project, our team has become a go-to contractor for a leading Chicago GC all thanks to our Foreman and the Luse Environmental team.
